Through implementation of the eight DECIDE Introductory and Advanced Curriculum modules, the project will foster regional integration and cooperation across different regions of these Central Asian countries.

This will be achieved through joint initiatives, sharing of good practices and cooperation to improve the level of competencies and skills in HEIs and Society by developing these new and innovative education programmes.

This is targeted at all partners and will be later integrated into official university and public administration and, where it is feasible, NGO programmes.

Meeting Needs – Cognition and Learning (including moderate and severe learning difficulties and Dyslexia)

To study the cognition and learning needs (including moderate and severe learning difficulties and Dyslexia) of people with limited health abilities. Introducing students with the basic concepts of cognition and learning disabilities, types of these disabilities, including dyslexia and inclusive practices in Kazakhstan, and their difference. Essential practices and methods using in teaching students with such kind of disabilities in learning process.
The module guides lecturers in the development of curricula for students with cognition and learning needs.

This module includes a focus on Autism as identified by the SWOT analysis carried out in the project.

The aim of Meeting Needs – Communication and Interaction module is to be aware of the impact of curricular adaptation on the inclusion of people with SEND into higher education. During this module, we will critically analyze communication and interaction strategies that are consider to be effective for higher education. We will evaluate the feasibility of the curricular adaptation models to specific, national contexts.

The discipline “Meeting Needs – Communication and Interaction” is intended for trainees with disabilities in higher educational institutions, NGO and government sectors educational institutions.

In this module there will be studied the physical and sensory needs of people with limited health abilities and their derivation for a person. The module guides students to the development of curricula for students with physical and sensory needs.

The purpose of the module is the students’ formation about inclusive education of persons with disabilities, the implementation of their personal-motivational, cognitive and practical preparation for the implementation of an inclusive education model at various levels of the education system.
